About Me

Hello I'm David, a game and level designer who recently graduated from Academy of Art University. I've been a passionate gamer since I was 5 years old and I'm super excited to turn that passion into a career.

Below you will find projects I worked on during my time at AAU, including my thesis project from which I received my MFA in Game Design. I consider myself to be a strong learner, and very adaptable when in comes new experiences. I love challenging myself and going above and beyond to achieve my goals while also being able to demonstrate my creativity. 

During my time at AAU I got experience designing games, scripting games, and working with classmates to create projects. I was the team leader of multiple projects overseeing a team of 6, and later a team of 10 to coordinate project roles, manage the project timeline, and keep the asset assembly line flowing.

Alleria's Legacy is my thesis project I worked on at AAU. It's an open-world RPG level design project that I created from scratch using Unreal Engine. It features story elements, questing, and a combat system, and remains to be my largest project to date. Check it out!

3D Level design project I worked on for 6 weeks. The game features a block out of a modern-style train station with multiple objectives like picking up objects, and avoiding patrolling enemies.

3D Level design project I worked on for 3 weeks. This level includes a block out of a Egyptian inspired underground temple with a 4-step puzzle the player has to complete.

3D Level design project I worked on for 3 weeks. This game is a block out of a medieval style village with roaming NPCs and enemies. The game features a basic objective system to reach the end of the level.

2D project I worked on for 1 week. This project is a single-screen platformer similar to a Mario-style game. Features a unique boss fight at the end of the level.

2D project I worked on for 1 week. This was a project where I created a turn-based combat game with a wizard theme. The player has multiple spells, items, and attacks to defeat the enemy.

2D Project I worked on for 1 week. I created a simple matching game that lets you shuffle the deck each time you finish.

Rock Out
2D project I worked on for 1 week. I created a Guitar-hero inspired rhythm game where the player has to hit the notes as they come down the screen. I used Eye of the Tiger as my song of choice.

Mutant Soldier: Stranded
2D project I worked on for 6 weeks. This is a top-down game where the player is trapped in a forest-like maze. Enemies that are encountered put the player in turn-based combat. Features puzzles, and a unique talent tree and ability system.
